Altura

Casa Branca is a villa in the algarve and is located in the lovely portuguese village of Altura in the Eastern Algarve, between the historical town of Tavira (15 km) and Monte Gordo (3 km).  Altura is brimming with Portuguese atmosphere, the people are friendly and prices are extremely reasonable (1 euro for a glass of beer!).  Altura has retained its typical charm without capitalising on the heavy tourist approach.  A little piece of paradise with its beautiful, white, sandy beach which is deemed to be one of the safest in Portugal.  Altura is a get away from it all friendly, Portuguese village/town with enough restaurants and local bars to suit all without losing its charm.  Its location is ideal for any type of holidaymaker - whether to use as a base from which to explore the delights of the traditional Eastern Algarve, sample the local golf courses or simply enjoy a relaxing seaside break.  For those looking for a bit more, Monte Gordo is only a couple of km's down the road, with its Casino for those with a penchant for a little flutter.  Just 5km from Altura is the town of Villa Real de Santo Antonio with its big square and lovely harbour where you can take a boat up the river for a wonderful day out or the ferry over to enjoy the beaches of Spain (only 10 minutes away!).
